My name is Gary Scott; I am a 1995 graduate of Marlington High School. After high school, I spent five years in the United States Marine Corps, where I was a Hydraulic Mechanic on the AV8B Harrier Jet. During my time in the service I also met my beautiful wife Deana, and we were married in June of 2000. After the Marines, I continued working with the Harrier Program, in Yuma Arizona, this time as a Maintenance Trainer employed by the Boeing Company. In March of 2004 we welcomed our first child Gabriel to our family. In October 2007 Nathaniel was born, and we began to realize that we needed to be closer to home and family. So in October of 2008, we made the move back to Ohio, and settled in Washington Township. Marlington is my home, it always has been, and it always will be.
WHY I AM RUNNING?
That's easy, my boys, Gabe is a fourth grader, and Than is going into Kindergarten at Washington Elementary. My desire is for them to get a quality education in a safe and conservative environment. I want them to grow up understanding the value hard work, and preserving the things that have been given to them. I want them to have the very best of everything, and the newest and greatest things to come along, but I understand that that is not the best thing for them. It is far better that they learn to work for what they want, and be grateful for what they have, rather than to be handed everything on a silver platter. So I am running for the Board of Education, to try to preserve what Marlington, and this great community has always been about, for the next generation.
